IPIR is a non-governmental think tank that intends to support government, community, and policy influencers in building a just and progressive society through research, dialogue, consultations, social work, advocacy, and leadership. The objectives of the organization include:
Dialogue/Consultations
Engage governments, the private sector, academia, civil society, and policy influencers in the co-creation of public policies through open debates and private discussions on the major national and international issues. Furthermore, with the help of its national and international researcher’s network, it aims to advise the government on burning legal, social, and economic challenges of the country.
Peer-Reviewed Research Journal
Launch a research journal to promote research culture and evidence-based legislation along with policymaking in the country through rigorous analysis of critical global, regional, and country-specific challenges and opportunities.
Research Networking
Research Networking is a knowledge management system for the researchers regardless they work in academic institutions, foundations, government, or in industry. IPIR focuses to connect institutional systems, broad research networks, and public research data by collecting accessible information from a wide range of sources. It aims to enable shared learning and synthesize the research community.
Researchers’ Community
Create a platform to develop the community of researchers’ where they can synthesize their experiences and generate healthy debate for new research avenues. Primarily, this platform intends to connect researchers’ diaspora around the world especially Pakistani researchers.
Human Resource Development
Conduct educational activities for human resource development and capacity building sessions of researchers on data collection and evidence-based analysis.
Advocacy
Provide leadership, training and advocacy to the next generation of policy influencers especially youth as it is the most important denominator of Pakistani society. It plays a significant role in the establishment of a just and progressive society.
Impact Evaluations
Conduct impact evaluations of policies and projects for government and non-profit sectors in order to analyze outcomes and feedback for the next policy cycle.
Social Services
Develop a strong social capital through philanthropic activities in order to enforce social responsibility. For the above stated purpose, a youth network comprising local and overseas young professionals along with students will be established to showcase the bright future leaders of Pakistan.
Scope
Research is the essence of development and is given prime importance all over the world. All the prosperous nations of the world have developed a ‘research culture’ in legislation and their academic institutions. Pakistan lags behind in research and up till now has still striving to develop in developing an inspiring research culture in Pakistan. The developed world is the product of research and innovative thinking as in today’s complex world unique solutions are required in public policy implementation. The prominent reason for the difference between developed and under-developed world is the research mentality. While Pakistan has many constraints in the way of development in terms of proper research culture, this organization intends to play its part in promoting and progressing the culture of policy based practical research. In this context, the organization has a rich legacy in the field of academia and publishing aspire to play its role for the nation and society.
